An electric vehicle MOT covers all standard safety checks alongside EV-specific inspections. On the standard side, our testers check your brakes, tyres, lights and indicators, steering and suspension, windscreen visibility, seatbelts, horn operation and number plates — everything that applies to any vehicle on the road.
On top of those standard checks, an EV MOT also includes a visual inspection of the high-voltage wiring and connections, the battery enclosure condition, regenerative braking system, electric motor mountings, charging port condition and the vehicle’s warning systems and hazard labels.
